Sharman Networks is working hard to deliver a new version of Kazaa, with exciting new features and capabilities, as part of its mission of delivering the best P2P experience in the world. You can be a part of that process by participating in the Kazaa v2.6 Beta test!
How the Beta Test Works
As part of Sharman Networks' development process, you can download a pre-release beta version of Kazaa v2.6 (and the bundled software) and help test the product. A beta version means that Kazaa v2.6 is still under development and may contain bugs, defects, and may not work as expected.
Upgrades of the Kazaa v2.6 Beta software may be provided from time-to-time during the Beta Test to test newly enabled capabilities or to re-test portions that have been changed. However, please be advised that Sharman Networks is not obligated to provide technical support, maintenance, updates or upgrades on this beta software.
You will be asked to fill out a Beta Test Questionnaire to let us know what you think of the latest version of Kazaa. Completing the questionnaire should only take a few minutes of your time.
Is the Beta Test Right For Me?
To participate in this beta test, you must be over the age of 13.
To operate Kazaa v2.6, you must run Windows 98/ME/2000/XP, Internet Explorer 5 or above and have Windows Media Player 6.4 or later.
You must also be willing to accept the risks inherent in beta testing. Do not participate in the Beta Test unless you are fully prepared for the possibility that the beta software might not work properly or that your computer might crash or otherwise malfunction during the testing process.
As a Kazaa v2.6 Beta tester you will be required to:
- Agree to the Kazaa Media Desktop v2.6 Beta Test License Agreement. Please read the Beta Test License Agreement carefully, as it contains important disclaimers and other information about this beta test.
- Agree to the other license agreements in the Kazaa v2.6 Beta Installer.
- Install Kazaa v2.6 Beta.
- Agree to complete the Beta Questionnaire, which will be available as a link from the start page on 'Web' view in Kazaa v2.6 Beta.
- Report any bugs that you encounter on the Bug Report Form, located in the 'Contact Us' section, which is linked from 'About Us' on the start page within Kazaa v2.6 Beta. Please note that while we will use your report to investigate any enhancements or repairs to the Kazaa software that may be required, we are not able to respond to every issue raised by testers.
Conduct During the Test
As explained more fully in the Beta Test License Agreement, it is your responsibility to use Kazaa software (whether beta or otherwise) properly and within the bounds of the law. Sharman Networks will not provide technical support or otherwise assist any user in finding or downloading illegal and/or infringing files. If you report a problem finding or downloading illegal files, Sharman Networks will not provide assistance in any way.
WARNING: KAZAA v2.6 BETA HAS NOT BEEN THOROUGHLY TESTED AND IS BELIEVED TO CONTAIN DEFECTS. A PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THIS BETA TEST IS TO IDENTIFY DEFECTS. YOU ARE ADVISED TO SAFEGUARD IMPORTANT DATA, TO USE CAUTION AND TO NOT RELY IN ANY WAY ON THE CORRECT FUNCTIONING OR PERFORMANCE OF KAZAA MEDIA DESKTOP v2.6 BETA SOFTWARE.
